Painful Neuropathy Can Be Successfully Treated

Peripheral neuropathy can cause nerve pain, numbness, tingling, and other uncomfortable symptoms and side effects that can insult to injury in diabetic patients.  There are solutions to this pain that don’t involve medication or surgery.

Unlike programs that rely on medicine to numb the pain, chiropractic treatments focus on the underlying cause of the pain and discomfort.  Rather than using medication to hide the pain, our doctors at Texas Clinic of Chiropractic takes a whole-body approach to treat the body’s discomfort and prevent permanent damage.  We will also work with our patients to find strategies to help manage diabetes more effectively.

Although peripheral neuropathy can affect each patient differently, treatment of the pain and discomfort is the best option for everyone.  Some people may suffer from pain nearly all the time, and others may have pain or tingling that comes and goes.  Ignoring these issues can eventually cause muscle weakness, painful and extreme sensitivity to being touched, and even a loss of balance and coordination.  It is not uncommon for older patients to fall and hurt themselves.

Side Effect from Chemotherapy

Peripheral neuropathy can also cause pain and discomfort as a side effect of chemotherapy.  Fortunately, over the past several years, people have found that the whole-body approach used by chiropractors allows much of that pain to be alleviated without using more medication.

At the Texas Clinic of Chiropractic, we do more than adjust the spine and ensure that everything is “in place”.  We can also help mobilize your spine and tissues around it.  We then stimulate your nervous system which will not only remove that pain from peripheral neuropathy, but it will also help make our patients feel better and take another step toward returning to the lifestyle they were able to enjoy before their cancer diagnosis.
